"This is perspective!"
On tonight's episode of "Hannity & Colmes," host Sean Hannity featured live interviews with Shepard Smith and Geraldo Rivera. Both, to the befuddlement of Hannity, were outraged.
Smith angrily discussed the checkpoint that has been set up on the way out of New Orleans. Those fleeing the city, leaving the disastrous situation, are being turned around and sent back, Smith shouted. There was hope on the other side, he maintained, but nothing back in the city. No one was being let through. When Hannity tried to put things "in perspective," a livid Smith yelled back, "This is perspective!"
Cutting away from a beside-himself Smith, Hannity was soon broadsided by Rivera, who was holding up an infant being made to suffer in the aftermath of the storm. Said a tearful Rivera:
Look in the face of the baby. This is it. This is it, no sugercoating, no political spin, no Republicans or Democrats. People suffering. Let them go. Let them out of here. Let them GO. Let them walk over this damn interstate and let them out of here. For one moment, the partisanship of Fox gave way to sheer anger. Hannity's company line was being torn asunder by Smith and Rivera. It was amazing television, gripping commentary.
Crooks and Liars, as always, has the video.
